VidCutter is an open-source app for quick and easy video trimming / splitting and merging / joining for simple quick edits.
The software is written in Python3 with the PyQt5 GUI framework, and based on FFmpeg multimedia framework.
How to install VidCutter via PPA in Ubuntu:
The developer offers the latest packages via a PPA repository, which so far supports for Ubuntu 17.04, Ubuntu 16.10, Ubuntu 16.04, Ubuntu 14.04, and their derivatives.
1. To add the PPA, open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run command:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ozmartian/apps
Type in your password when it prompts and hit Enter.
2. Then search for and install the software using Synaptic Package Manager:
or just run the commands below one by one in terminal:
sudo apt update
sudo apt install vidcutter
Uninstall VidCutter:
To uninstall the software, either use Synaptic Package Manager or run the command in terminal:
sudo apt remove vidcutter && sudo apt autoremove
And the PPA can be removed via System Settings -> Software & Updates -> Other Software tab.
