Deepin Music is a beautiful and easy to use music player developed by Deepin Team. It’s the default music playing application in Linux Deepin
Deepin Music focuses on local music playing. It can do smart scan on local drives to add local music folder at background automatically. Users can also add custom local folder by clicking on “Add Music” button.
The player uses the light color mode by default. Users can switch to the deep (dark) color mode in the main menu:
When you added music to play, it automatically search, match and scrolling to display the lyrics. If there is no suitable lyrics for current music, users can also search manually, the search function will show all matched result by the music name and artist name.
Users can control the music playback via keyboard shortcuts. By default, you can use following shortcuts:
- Ctrl+Alt+P (pause / play)
- Ctrl+Alt+Left (previous)
- Ctrl+Alt+Right (next)
- Ctrl+Alt+Up (volume up)
- Ctrl+Alt+Down (volume down)
Install Deepin Music in Ubuntu / Linux Mint:
1. The software is available as Snap app. If you’ve never installed a Snap app, do:
Open terminal by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T or searching for “terminal” from start menu. When it opens, run command:
sudo apt install snapd
Type in your password (no visual feedback) and hit Enter.
2. Then you can search for and install deepin-music via Ubuntu Software App. Or just run command:
sudo snap install deepin-music
Once installed, launch it from Unity Dash / App Launcher just like other apps and enjoy!
To uninstall the music player, either use Ubuntu Software App or run command:
sudo snap remove deepin-music
