How to install Claws Mail 3.14 via PPA:
Since the official Claws Mail PPA is no longer updated for very long time, Ji-m has made a PPA with the latest binary packages to make installing Claws Mail 3.14 easy in Ubuntu 16.04.
1. Add the PPA.
Open terminal (Ctrl+Alt+T) and run command:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/claws-mail
Type in your password when prompts and hit Enter.
2. If you have a previous release installed, launch Software Updater and upgrade Claws Mail:
Or you can run command to install or upgrade the software:
sudo apt update; sudo apt install claws-mail
For themes, plugins, feed reader, etc., run the command below to install all of them:
sudo apt install claws-mail-*
3. (Optional) For any reason, you can easily downgrade Claws Mail to the stock version in Ubuntu 16.04 via command:
sudo apt install ppa-purge && sudo ppa-purge ppa:ubuntuhandbook1/claws-mail
